Matthew Black, writer
Matthew Black is always trying to make people laugh. Because of that, little kids, small dogs, and sweet old ladies find him severely interesting. It was only after his job as a waiter started getting in the way of his acting career that Matthew realized, "after an evening spent writing, nobody stiffs you and you don't smell like fish." So, he switched gears, and his life as a writer began. As a wordsmith, Matthew has five completed screenplays and three television shows in various stages of studio development. Currently, he is completing a new screenplay and putting the finishing touches on his second children's book, "Olive Juice & Elephant Shoes (and 99 other ways to not say I love you)."
Michael Smith, illustrator
Everybody knows Mike likes to draw. He has wielded a pencil ever since he can remember. After obtaining a "formal" education in fine arts, where his focus was primarily on drawing, oil painting, and printmaking, Mike decided to direct his artistic ability toward making cartoons. A resident of New York City, Mike has enjoyed opportunities to work in various areas of animation production ranging from character design and storyboarding to cel animation and cleanup. He currently works as a storyboard artist for animation and commercial production, and is always developing ideas that he pitches around with his buddy, Matt Black. All of this makes him happy.
