Moki Macaroni

Moki the Macaroni penguin learns early on that he's afraid of water and doesn't want to swim. Even though all of his penguin pals can't wait to get their feet wet, Moki stays home in the safety of his nest.

Time wears on and Moki's baby fluff is replaced with the silky black coat of a fully-fledged penguin ready to swim. One day, his friend Slicky tries to teach him the fun of tobogganing, a penguin's favorite activity next to swimming. But Moki panics, and when Slicky makes fun of him for not being a real penguin he runs away, getting lost during a terrible snow storm.

While trying to find his way back home he meets up with Goozie the goose who leads him to a stranded penguin friend by the name of Meeps. The trouble is, there's no way to rescue her unless he takes the plunge--literally!

Vanessa Knight is a an artist fresh out of college who has been illustrating since her coordination developed enough to allow her to hold a pencil. Vanessa's passion is illustrating wildlife and fantasy animals. Having a special affinity for nature, she enjoys sketching, drawing and painting all things winged, furry and scaly. She has coupled her artistic talents with her writing ability to create this first book. Moki Macaroni is the fulfillment of Vanessa's dream of combining words and images on paper to create a story that she hopes adults and children will cherish for years to come.
