A quiet reading of Bitsy and Buddy will be an antidote to the noise and confusion of today’s world. The author is 94 years old. Her granddaughter is the illustrator, and her daughter edited the book. They each live in different parts of the United States.
Buddy is a tall white goose with a red topknot on the top of his head. Bitsy is a little brown and gold speckled hen. They live in an orchard of a little blue house behind a high ornamental fence on Carmel Street.
The weather is turning cold and Buddy thinks about going south where it is warmer. When they find the gate open they slip out and that’s when their adventures start. Buddy helps Bitsy, who is smaller then he is. Bitsy feels safe with Buddy, despite the potential dangers they find. She cackles when she is happy. They are good friends.
How far south will they go? How do they get home?
