This is the first of a three-volume series. Understanding music theory both on the page and the keyboard will make the learning of music easier and infinitely more enjoyable, so this is how all the elements are taught.
In addition to keyboard basics, the first level also covers the complete major scales, the treble and bass clefs, and introduces rhythms, intervals, and chords. If you are at the junior high school level, or if you are older but prefer to begin the study of musical theory at a leisurely pace in a thorough, step by step method, then this book is for you.
Features:
- Keyboard skills are integrated into every lesson, enabling you to hear, feel, and "see" the music as you learn.
- Frequent reviews provide ample opportunities to steadily strengthen your knowledge of every element.
- Numerous diagrams allow you to easily visualize each new concept, taking the mystery out of learning music theory!
- In the hands-on approach, you will have many changes to practice what you learn in each lesson as it is being taught with the drills and exercises that follow.
Music Theory Step by Step: Level Two and Music Theory Step by Step: Level Three are also available from Trafford Publishing.
