Reading this book is designed to give a humorous insight into the land down under thus enlightening the reader to this very different part of the world.

This is not just another book extolling the virtues of Australia. Rather it is a series of stories written by an Australian. The stories give a concise view of life in Australia and include information on the geography, climate, animals, people, major points of interest and culture.

I trust you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed the writing - some surprises are guaranteed, such as;

Contrary to popular opinion, Kookaburras don't cook. Not that they couldn't, they just prefer their meat like Americans, so rare they are honest about it and don't take a flame near it. We learnt this when we were in the States - the waiter/ress would say the usual "How do you like your steak sir" and unless we said cremated, it was rare every time. Actually, it's always intrigued us but this is how I think it really goes stateside. Rare - the Chef is smoking, Medium the Chef and his/her Assistant are both smoking and finally well done - The chef accidentally drops the meat onto the cooker but rescues it in a split second. At least that's how it looked to us.

That's what the Kookaburra is like. I saw one kill a snake once, and after the snake was dead it flew a short distance around it, just to make sure I guess and in the heat of the Australian sun it was clear by American standards the Kooka wanted to eat the snake "well done", which he did. How smart is that!

As a 52 year old Aussie I thought it was about time I wrote a book. But on what? Religion, politics, kangaroos?? I have had a lot of varying experience so in a way it's a biography of what I have seen, learnt and above all where I have been.

After some thought I decided to write about Australia as I see it- warts and all.

Like many 52 year old Aussies I am unfettered by knowledge and can therefore give an honest, down to earth account of life downunder.

So from 22 years experience in a Bank to 12 years in my own business to working with those noble Australian Aboriginals why not learn and have some fun at the same time? I know I did!
