The book of Revelation portrays within its pages mysterious visions and imagery. The book itself was written by the Apostle John, who was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day (Revelation 1:10), and who was shown things that were to take place at the end of the age; a time just prior to the return of Jesus Christ.
The book has been written in such a way that many view its contents as fictitious. But nothing could be further from the truth.

Michael Burman is a former member of the Worldwide Church of God. He was baptised (full immersion) on 17th March 1990. He currently resides in the South-East of England with his wife Loraine, and two children, James and Rebecca. After the death of the late Herbert W. Armstrong (Founder and Pastor General) in 1986 the organisation fell into decline under the leadership of Joseph Tkach (Herbert ArmstrongÕs successor).
Many fundamental doctrines were watered down or changed, which left the laity in confusion and their beliefs greatly challenged. Joseph Tkach Jr., who succeeded his father as Pastor General in 1995, made many more changes until its statement of beliefs no longer resembled the original statement of beliefs set out by the organisationÕs founder.
These changes in doctrine led to the break-up of the organisation with former ministers setting up alternative organisations. Today there are over three hundred breakaway groups, with this number on the increase.
The author also made a decision to leave the Worldwide Church of God and shortly afterwards began to study into the book of Revelation. His studies have continued, on and off, for over fifteen years and have led to the writing of his book, ÒUnlocking the Book of Revelation to the Seven ChurchesÓ.
The book itself provides a unique insight into the sequence of events prophesied to occur shortly prior to the return of Jesus Christ. Other prophecies are also discussed in detail, which makes for an interesting Bible study, and enjoyable read.
