This is the hour of restoration. In times past, whether in the life of ancient Israel or throughout the Church age, like the ever-changing ebb and flow of the tides, there have been intervals of serious moral and spiritual darkness followed by wonderful moments of restoration and renewal. These various periods of spiritual revival, and the movements they produced, not only radically changed the lives of individuals but the course of nations and even civilizations. Sweeping the globe (from the early church to Constantine; from Saint Patrick to Wilberforce; from the European Reformation to America’s Great Awakenings and on into the Twentieth Century Pentecostal explosion that began in Kansas and at Azusa Street which was a precursor to the re-birthing of the nation of Israel in 1947) these world-changing events have been the foretaste of the final days of restoration the Father has planned. And we have now entered into that time in history where the Spirit of God is making the final push; the concluding acts of restoration that will culminate in the return of Jesus Christ. Every piece must be in place, every saint readied, every prophecy fulfilled. “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come… For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory.” (PSALM 102:13,16).
We are on the precipice of the Father’s dream being finally and ultimately restored. The Lord will receive back all that has been stolen – and more! And because this is a family thing, we have a part to play as well (EPHESIANS 1:3, 3:15). This is also the time for God’s people to get back what has been stolen from us. It is a time when the glory of God is readily and powerfully retrieving what has been lost and forcibly taken from the rightful heirs of His marvelous salvation. It is a time of preparations for a new age and a new Kingdom. The forces of Heaven are allied with those upon the earth who are serious about their Father’s business. Time is running out and a sense of urgency is upon us. This Spirit impressed urgency is not one of desperation but of a holy determination to accomplish the will and dream of the Father. And as the Father’s purposes are enacted and the believing Church fulfills her part in this restoration project Jesus will come to personally and finally set everything right; bringing order to every perplexity; righting every wrong; and creating justice for every inequity.
Today, from individuals and families, to people groups and nations, the Spirit of Jesus is moving throughout the world to save the sinner and restore what has been lost to the Father as well as to His people.
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
JOHN 6:37-40
Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.
PSALM 2:8
This is the reason that Jesus came – to destroy the works of the devil; to release people from satanic bondage and to give them the very life He possesses! O, what a wonderful Savior! “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 JOHN 3:8B).
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (JOHN 10:10). This most wonderful promise is for those who have been plundered of their godly and righteous dreams. It is for those whose material and physical well-being has been stripped from them. And here is some more good news - the tide is changing! The table has been turned. It is now the believing church that is plundering Hell’s closely guarded territories, and we are ourselves now binding and subsequently plundering what is rightfully and morally ours! Of course, as in any war there are set backs and disappointments, but for those who will dare believe the Father’s precious promises, we are now possessing our God-given privilege in Jesus’ name and we’re taking back stolen ground!
