Luke Plenty, a hack life insurance salesman who supplements his income with breaking and-entering jobs, gets the assignment of a lifetime when an estranged husband pays him $15,000 to break into his wife’s home.
Luke Plenty plans to return home to the woman of his dreams, Barb Goode, his 5’2” green-eyed companion with a fetish for undergarments. He gathers his night’s spoils of cash, jewelry, and more loot.
Before Luke has time to go through the spoils from the night's burglary, he gets a call from Jack, the man who paid him to pull off the heist. The burglary that Plenty thought had gone so well is just about to get much more interesting.
Plenty finds himself in the middle of a deal gone bad that involves the Mafia, a union of biker gangs and foreign correctional officers. Pursued by thugs and foreigners, Plenty inadvertently involves his color-coordinated companion, Goode. In order to keep on living, Goode and Plenty must solve a riddle tangled in corruption, deceit and murder.
Join these two novice mystery solvers on a series of escapades as they try to evade their pursuers and keep their stolen spoils in The Teaspoon Burglary, the first book in The Goode and Plenty Mystery Series.
About the Book
The Teaspoon Burglary
A Goode and Plenty Mystery
Synopsis
Supplementing an otherwise bleak life insurance salesman’s income, Luke Plenty pulls off the occasional “breaking and entering”. On a commissioned burglary set in motion by a scorned ex-husband, Plenty finds that the bounty is not in the gems and jewels he acquires. Plenty and his companion, Barb Goode, a green-eyed, 5′2″ woman with a storehouse of lovely unmentionables, are forced into a spiraling web of history and mystery. A union of biker gangs and the Mafia has resulted in a deal gone bad; bodies continue to pile up, and money has gone missing. Pursued by well-dressed internationals and no-neck thugs, Plenty and his color-coordinated companion must first solve a riddle before they can exit from the web and return home. Plenty is new to the “sleuth” side of the criminal equation, but his efforts are aided by the unexpected computer and puzzle-solving skills of his companion of two years, Goode. Their search for the answer leads the two novice crime solvers through various escapades. A cop’s good word, a district attorney’s silence, and a convict’s “just due” come to a surprising conclusion, at the angst of their pursuers.
