About the Author

Sylvia Adams is the author of a novel, This Weather of Hangmen, the award-winning chapbook of Mondrian's Elephant, and the poetry collection, Sleeping on the Moon, which was runner-up for the 2007 Scott Lampman Award. Poems from that manuscript were short listed for the Malahat Review's 2005 Long Poem Award. She won Arc Magazine's 2005 Diana Brebner Award. The former poetry columnist for the Ottawa Citizen, she is an editor, book reviewer, instructor, founding member of Ottawa's Field Stone Poets and facilitator of Ottawa's Pachyderm Poets. In 2007 she taught a poetry workshop in Chile. Her work has appeared in journals and anthologies in Canada and the U.S. Some of her poetry has been translated into Spanish. Ben Chung is a computer graphics artist with his roots in fine art and illustration. He graduated from the illustation program at Sheridan College, and later veered towards digital media as a tool for his artistic content. He wishes that the reader will be able to enjoy the humour of the story through illustrations that were a lot of fun to make. "Some of the characters came together quite spontaneously, and it was interesting getting to know them as they reminded me of certain people, and they began to talk with each other on the page." Ben lives with his wife Angela and children Brandon and Jaime in St. Catharines.
