About the Book
Given the title of the book here within its depth I travel beyond the
ego of the city streets to the soothing of natures smile. I write thru
the flowing ebb of emotion that describes the un-describable, like a
painting capturing the essence and placing you there within it (to feel
it openly and to share the experience both of pleasure and pain). Within
these poems I express and strip to the core, the perception of life and
in what we give. Thru the truth reflecting, the flesh and soul, built
around the skeleton spirit of who we are.
The
Door-way
lets cast out
the memories and fulfill the dreams
escape the mind and heal the heart
with depth of soul igniting
daylight passions
and the mystic of nights ebbing flow
burn,
burning into the flames of midnights tow
stars and moonlit skies
half- mast'd
in death and birth...

About the Author
"There are various influences that
have inspired me," noted Crowley. "The first moment that i heard the
mystic lyrics of Moonlight Drive (let's swim to the moon, let's climb
through the tide- penetrate the evening that the city sleeps to hide) by
the Doors/ Jim Morrison - I was transcended right there," he recalls.
Some other examples of inspirational works noted by Crowley would be
Lord Byron's "She Walks in Beauty," Arthur Rimbaud "A Season in Hell,"
W.B. Yeats "The Rose Tree" and Michael Walsh's "Magic." I am also moved
to write by traveling to cities both here in America and abroad, through
the different cultures and flowing spirits - The depth in people's eyes
and the faces they wear. My intention is to express myself through the
written translation of my own experiences." Voicing thru the soul a
connection between - you and me.
I often find poetry inaccessible,
some mysterious, twisted path that I can rarely follow.
The works of Dan Crowley let the light in, like the lyrics of a great song.
Crowley writes memorable, speaking a language I can understand.
He bares a sense of Passion for things that have legs,
not some intangible concepts that become impossible to decipher.
Crowley writes, Crowley rocks!?
