About the Book

The book has been designed for the praise and worship leader who has already studied the history and knows the purpose of praise and workship. It is a guide for the experienced and recently called worship leader. It includes scriptures, prayer, and songs with audience participation. Praise and worship is not a new idea, but an expression of our spiritual growth in the word of God.

The book is divided into four main sections:

1. The Alabaster Box is about the real meaning of praise and worship and the sacritice you should make as a worship leader.
2. The Preparation for Service will give you some ideas on how to organize praise and workship in your service or event.
3. Scripture and Song Selection is the next step in preparation for the praise and worship experience.
4. Songs for Praise and Worship includes a large compilation of traditional, contemporary, and seasonal song lyrics that can be used for almost any part of the worship service, anytime of the year.

About the Author

Dr. Marcia R. Pittman is particularly known in the gospel community for her choir directing, radio announcing, and production of several recordings with major artists. Her affiliations include Bay Area Chapter Leader and member of Board of Directors for the Edwin Hawkins & Walter Hawkins Music & Arts Love Fellowship Conference; member Board of Directors for Project Outreach, Oakland, CA., a non-profit working to eliminate hunger and homelessness; and an active voting member of the Recording Academy, San Francisco, CA. chapter. Marcia serves as Minister of Music for Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church, Vallejo, CA. She is President & CEO of Agape and Company, specializing in gospel music business. Marcia received both a bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Doctor of Ministry with a major in Evangelism from Bell Grove Theological Seminary, Baton Rouge, LA.

While the ministry of gospel music is her first passion, Marcia is an advocate for education, encouraging young people all over the nation to make learning a part of their lives. She is also an ordained minister who teaches at conferences and seminars across the country. Because of the many consultations she has done with Pastors and Praise and Worship Leaders over the years, it became and inescapable call to write a book on Application of Praise and Worship, How to Conduct Praise and Worship.
