About the Book
An injured fledgling crow literally dropped into our lives. While pondering the responsibility and effort to raise it, son Tim asked the simple yet pointed question “What do you have to do anyway?” He was right and the answer will be found in this book that really just happened because of the crow, Shadow. As we reared him to adulthood and eventual return to the wild, our neighbor Mike proclaimed it: The Summer of Shadow.
This true story took place at our home atop a Missouri Ozark ridge not far from St. Louis. The experience provided the opportunity for us to share with others the nature of this remarkable bird. Married to wife, Dot for more than fifty years with five children and four grandchildren. Interests include wildlife rehabilitation, fishing and camping. Favorite pastimes would include spending time with old friends and music. A Research Fellow of ASCAR, American Society of Crows and Ravens; a Media Contributor to Crows.net.
