About the Book

SEVEN LESSONS ON ARCHITECTURAL MORPHOGENESIS It is the author’s fourth extensive book on drawings in architectural design. It follows the Thought Palaces (1999), Thinkink (2010) and Urban Innuendoes (2013). All these books favored drawings as compared to text, but this book has no written text at all (with the exception of the acknowledgements and the contents page). Its motto is: drawings speak in many tongues, they form the text of this book. It contains seven architectural projects, all designed by the author, and with one exception, they are all international competitions about complex and significant public buildings. None of his winning projects are among them, because the purpose of the book is to provide insights related to the secrets of the intuitive and rational process of the thoughts to matter transformation. All the freehand ink drawings are made by the author, using the “spaceprints” method. Visit the short video:

About the Author

Dr. Peter Magyar, RIBA, CAHA, served at three universities as head of the Architecture Department or, as in Florida Atlantic, as a founding director. His strong belief is that teaching has to have a constantly tested and renewed source of direct participation in the actual practice of architecture, hence his many projects, the results of consulting with noted firms or entering competitions. Both his practice and his academic activities are conducted on the international level. His master and doctor of architecture degrees are from the Technical University of Budapest. He authored several book; Thought Palaces (1999), Thinkink (2010), and Urban Innuendos (2013) are the latest ones.
