Ali Rau has spent her entire young life taking care of her alcoholic mother and her little sister - always the responsible one never breaking the rules. One night she decided to do something for herself, an evening out on the town which turns into a nightmare. Ali finds herself running from a scary situation only to run smack dab into a worse disaster -- she witnesses a vicious murder desperate to find a hiding place she finds someone else hiding there too, Peter Barr.
Peter tells her, “There are four dead people who could not possibly be alive because he witnessed four people with guns and masks walking to the house next door to where they are hiding.” Ali unfortunately has seen a face as one gunman lifted his mask under a motion light. Peter tells Ali, “The murdered people are rich prominent business owners in their small community and they were actually involved in an illegal drug ring. Then he drops a bombshell he believes he’s the only one alive to know about a hidden cache of huge sums of money because it’s obvious the killers didn’t find it. Peter begs Ali to help him take the money and run.”
Horrified Ali realizes the terrible murder will affect a lot of people she knows; in fact, it will be a scandal no one will forget in this uptight small town.
Ali is in such a panic, she’s frantically trying to think, she knows the right thing to do is go to the police, but the lure of lots of money and the fact she’s more terrified of the killers, makes her decision to take the money. She does vow to Peter and God that if she ever sees the killers face again she will go to the police. Little does Ali know that day might come sooner than she thinks.
Ali and Peter’s lives become a terrifying game of who will catch them first, the killers or the law. Ali and Peter find ways to convert the money so they can use it without getting caught. They pair up with the young people whose parents were murdered--- after an awkward beginning they find they all have something in common--- they’re being watched at least by the law and maybe the killers.
Ali has no idea she holds the key to unlock a vicious criminal drug ring that covers several states and foreign countries.
WILL SHE FIND AND USE THE KEY?
