Excerpts
from Chapter 1 - "Lust...Abuse...Until Death"
Only fifty feet, apart, and Phil said with a very calm voice, "So we meet again, hey? And this time it's here on earth. If you - "
In the next split second, the man turned towards the detective with his gun drawn and fired a couple of shots, but Phil had expected it and threw himself to the ground, getting his shots off at the same time. It was a scene of the old wild west, as to who would be the survivor! The intensity was unbearable to the onlookers.
The policemen had left their car, running toward the two men on the ground, but only one got up, and it was Philip Wilbock! The other one was out cold, if not dead. Cleaning the front of his clothes with this hands, Phil said, "Unfortunately for him, he was not left-handed, and it took him too long with the right to swing around."
When Sonja came running into his arms, he just swayed with her for awhile, then took out his handkerchief to dry her tears. "You know," he said, "it's not my time yet, darling." It gave her a little comfort.
from Chapter 7 - "Labor of Love!"
At that moment, Phil picked up an empty plastic bottle and threw it sidewards to distract the criminal, and it worked. As he turned quickly, he looked at the detective's gun. "I suggest you drop your iron, or a bullet will finish you off," Phil threatened, looking at the man with intense determination.
But, to his surprise, a woman's voice from behing a garbage bin called out: "I've got him covered, Mike, don't worry."
Phil ducked down behind the criminal's car, though, quicker than the bullet could reach him, and it hit the metal above his head. Down on the floor, he looked past the opened car door, and noticed the profusely bleeding policeman come to life again, take his gun, sit up slowly and get off a shot at the man who seemed to be hiding behind the police cruiser's wide opened door.
That was the signal for Phil! He straightened up, and before the confused woman could point her gun, he shot her through the head. Then turning, he called out to the lightly wounded man, who also seemed to be very confused over the goings-on: "Drop it, or I'll plaster you one!" However, his warning was in vain, and he had to shoot the man, before he got it himself. It wasn't fatal, though.
Phil kicked his gun away and said to the policewoman, who had been flat on the ground during the shooting, "We;d better get an ambulance quick, before your partner bleeds to death."
