About the Book

Lochliney (Brittany), of the House of Bruce, takes on the role of chieftain after her father's death, never expecting it to become so volatile and unpredictable. She is bound in the past to her clan by honor and blood, but her future lies with her enemy clan and their chieftain, Gordon Douglas.

Gordon, of the House of Douglas, preferred to spend his time at sea sailing to far off lands to trade in goods. He never thought he would find himself back in the Highlands rescuing a young woman repeatedly who had no business becoming the leader of her clan. He felt sorry for the man who got saddled with her. But the longer he told himself this the more he couldn't stay away.

A passionate love that they believed was theirs for the taking would soon unravel even the strongest of hearts. A family death would soon pervade the land forcing the two neighboring clans to become enemies once again. And the only thing that could stop the senseless slaughter would be a human sacrifice to end the war.

About the Author

Kimberly Bird is a member of the Metis Nation and was born in the rugged northern landscape of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan where her ancestral blood runs strong. She now resides happily with her family in Alberta, Canada still close to the forests and river's edge. For all her complaining of the cold winters, she wouldn't have it any other way.

She is an avid reader and enjoys most literature, especially historical fiction, which is the inspiration to her own story writing. Her first novel Knights Treasure
was released in 2002, and she is currently working on her third novel called Pearls of Wisdom.
