About the Book

Many years ago, Walt McConville discovered how challenging, and also how rewarding it was, to compose entirely new lyrics to well-known sacred or secular melodies. Like other types of writing it becomes addictive in an amazingly short time, and following that distant discovery, he has written nearly a hundred of such experimental rhymes, eighty-five being included in Meaningful Melodies.

Each set of lyrics is linked to its proper tune, followed by a brief explanation, where necessary, as to how it came about.

The eighty-five items, then, are here now to be enjoyed and, when and wherever possible, participated in by the discerning or knowledgeable reader or musical buff.

About the Author

Author Walt McConvelle has, until now, kept them on a back burner, so to speak, but feels the time has come to run them forward for others to share and enjoy. So just pull up a comfortable armchair, sit back, relax, and clear your throat to join the fun!
