This document explains the standards governing differential GPS use in the Province of British Columbia. Resource surveys conducted with GPS and required to meet 1 to 10 metres in accuracy must adhere to the specifications and guidelines provided in the document. A cut-away section is provided for applying the specifications to various applications in different environments and requiring different levels of accuracy. The Guidelines section provides extensive information on GPS, field considerations, and interpretation of the specifications.
Although developed for British Columbia, the document may prove useful for anyone interested in managing GPS projects and obtaining correct results with differential GPS.
