Trafford Book Named da Vinci Eye Finalist of 2016 Eric Hoffer Book Award
Earnest Hooks Jr’s Let’s Go See Mother Wilkerson’s Farm was recently named a finalist of the da Vinci Eye award in the 2016 edition of the Eric Hoffer Book Award. A professional architect who has mentored local kids through the years, Hooks created the book as a learning tool for young readers who are unfamiliar with 20th century farm culture. His teachings incorporate the artwork of Mother Lizzie Wilkerson.
The da Vinci Eye is an award given to books with “superior cover artwork.” It was named in honor of the historic artist, scientist, and inventor Leonardo da Vinci.
