A-B-Cheyenne is a non-fiction book written for children by children.

The students and 3rd grade teachers at Fairview Elementary in Cheyenne, Wyoming first got the idea for the book while trying to research material for their social studies standards. The materials were all adult books and the children had a difficult time understanding their contents. That's how the idea of A-B-Cheyenne came about. The sign in the book represents our diversity at reaching out to the deaf community. Both 3rd grades at Fairview participate in learning sign language to be able to help communicate with students in our school and community.

The historical pieces are written to give information that the teachers who purchase this book might want to use in their classrooms.

The text of the book is written by children for children about the history of Cheyenne.
