About the Book
Deirdre Legs, a beautiful twenty-something millionairess, is shocked to find Karl Marx naked in her bathroom one night, informing her that she must free the world from a tyrannical God who plays humans like chess pieces. On top of this, Deirdre also has to contend with an ongoing battle with her brother, the Prime Minister of England.
Shortcuts is a tragicomedy, a love story, a political memoir and a philosophical examination of humankind. The novel offers not only a humorous depiction of contemporary political life, but a chance to engage the reader in a theoretical debate about the concepts of wealth, love, death, fate and human freewill, handled with wit and verve.
