About the Book

Dixieland Tobacco, of Richmond, Virginia, plans to snare new smokers with cigarettes that produce smoke in six delicious aromas: chocolate, cherry, grape, orange, peanut and banana. To popularize the new brand, each packet contains a scratch and win grid offering a $100 prize.

When a retarded youth in the test area (Nova Scotia) learns how to beat the system, British heir to Dixieland Tobacco, Piggy Cranwell-Burbury, and his ancient and decrepit valet Buxton visit the U.S. to award the prize money and halt the loss. But too late; a madcap cigarette-buying frenzy erupts and clergymen of all denominations in small villages battle to collect the prize money.

Sensing profit, a disgraced medic - Dr. Irving Stingmaier - enters the plot as protector to Piggy. In one of his nefarious pursuits, he swindles the diabolically cunning Grandmothers of America Motorized Cavalry with Elvis PresleyÕs magic peach stone.

Misadventures, beginning with a too-low unplanned flight at Kitty Hawk hanging onto a kite over shark-infested water, and a supposed attack by the Daughters of the American Revolution, lead Buxton to an audience with the President of the United States, and raise him to a knighthood, then to the peerage, and, as Earl Buxton of Watford, he takes tea with the Queen.

About the Author

Artist, musician and author of educational works dealing with preschool education, Sidney Ledson occasionally takes a breather and lets his inventive mind turn to humorous writing. Two other such works Ð 'Simon Says' and 'Talk about a Bad Hair Day' (written under the pen name Sister Trillium) Ð complete the current offering.

When sanity periodically returns he directs the Sidney Ledson Institute for Intellectual Advancement, in Toronto Ð the only establishment in Canada dedicated to raising childrenÕs intelligence.
