About the Book
Relationship issues at work resulted in our protagonist, Mr. M, or Bill for short, meeting a therapist ('Doc') for regular discussions. The September Dialogues summarize their talks. There are twelve dialogues, divided into three quartets.
The quartets' themes for exploring the linkages to human violence are:
- Group membership (male): its expectations, values, outcomes and behaviors
- Civilization: the pivotal role of violence in its structure and functioning
- Female: exploring whether human females in groups would behave similarly
First Quartet: Groups
How does human membership in groups influence their behaviour, including violence, as individuals?
Second Quartet: Civilization
How civilization still operates through its ancient structures and processes, including violence.
Third Quartet: Female
Exploring whether human females in groups would respond in the traditional ways, as well?
