HIS LIFE

His Life is Jesus Christ. His Story has affected billions since his birth. No man, no god has impacted the history of mankind like he has. People have abandoned their careers, families and countries to follow him. People have banished his story from their libraries, cultures and governments to eradicate his message. People have embraced his forgiveness, compassion and faith to radically transform their lives for the good. His Life is based on the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John woven together into one single account, filled with details and events that have been hidden for centuries. Get ready to enjoy His Life in a totally new perspective! Two examples on how the before and after actual individual event accounts where woven together: 1. Christ’s Water Baptism. Before: 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. Matthew 3:16. 10 As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. Mark 1:10. 21b And as he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. Luke 3:21b-22a. 1. Christ’s Water Baptism. After: 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, as he was coming up out of the water he was praying and at that moment he saw heaven being torn opened and the Spirit of God descended on him in bodily form like a dove and lighting on him. Summary of weaving the accounts together as one: For this event, we discovered there was no reference in the book of John on this event pertaining to his life. Matthew’s reference brings to the one woven account: “lighting on him.” Mark’s reference brings to the one woven account: “heaven being torn open.” Luke’s reference brings to the one woven account: “as he was praying.” 2. Seed Sown on Good Soil. Before: 23 But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Matthew 13:23. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. Luke 8:15. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop-thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown.” Mark 4:20. 2. Seed Sown on Good Soil. After: 23 But the other ones who received the sown seed that fell on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart who hear the word, accepts it, understands it and retains it. Summary of weaving the accounts together as one: For this event, we discovered there was no reference in the book of John on this event pertaining to his life. Matthew’s reference brings to the one woven account: “understands it.” Luke’s reference brings to the one woven account: “with a noble and good heart,” “retain it,” “persevering.” Mark’s reference brings to the one woven account: “accept it.” Construction Notes Mystery: After going through the mechanics, in putting this all together, it felt like his story was originally one account to begin with. It’s like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were sitting around the camp fire one night, discussing how they should break his life story up into separate accounts, for the purpose of increasing the odds in preserving it for generations to come. It’s like they reasoned, protecting four accounts had a better chance of surviving all the famines, floods, pestilences and tyrannies it might have to go through versus protecting one account. Three out of four accounts could be lost and there would still be one account to refer to. If the only one account was lost, then there would be no hope of preserving it. One account would be harder to prove as authentic, as would four accounts. Since there are four different people who wrote an account on his story, maybe there’s a better chance of his story being true. It’s like they took this original puzzle, broke it apart, mixed up the pieces and then randomly divided them up into four groups. Each would organize their allotted pieces and call it their account. And then by chance somehow, twenty centuries later, God in his grace, decided to put the “his life story” puzzle back together again. Chapter One HIS ORIGIN His Origin 1 The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Mark 1:1. 1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. Luke 1:1-4. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. John 1:1-5. 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. John 1:9.
