Preview of Memoir Thus the word of the Lord came to me to write the title of this book about Gentile. By virtue of one’s knowledge it must be written as a thesis in this endeavor. This writer will take you behind the scenes of views on an amazing variety of subjects. He discussed relativity and the atom bomb; analyzed Marxism and Communism, comparing both to Christianity and Democracy. It displays the intellectual grasp of both spiritual and temporal problems of our society in the signs of times. In 1914, just before the First World War when my father was seven years in age he moved to Shanghai for better education. Then, in 1941, when the Second World War had erupted I was at the age of five – it resonates with today’s conflicts and challenges of endless wars. It was truly providential by all account that I survived these many years… A historian in his own right, is emerging as an author of alternative history. This epic story of Moses of the Old Testament is being retold in resemblance of this modern-day narrative in The Eurasian Gentile. He has captured his personal history in this Memoir incorporating his life experiences throughout his many travels. In a brief account of its content in the thirty-three chapters above all, all the pages of his writing came straight from the heart, filled with truth, imagination and passion. In essence, his journey in this endeavor helps him examine the subjects he feels strongest about, writes about them with honesty, a candor to better capture the hidden values and use writing as an ongoing means of self-discovery and self-expression – that can be! In his first Chapter, “In the Beginning” it was written about Creation as cited in the first several verses of the Scripture in Genesis: God created heaven and earth (Gen. 1:1)… Thus the heavens and the earth and all the arrays were completed. Since on the seventh day God was finished with the work He had been doing, He rested on the seventh day from all the work He had undertaken. (Gen. 2:1-2) Now, across the vast vault of night, astronomers with their telescopes can gaze at an array of billions of stars, Shakespeare’s “burning tapers of the sky.” They have discovered many with extravagant properties – stars that would weigh as much as 600 million automobiles, with mysterious black holes whose incredible gravitational pull sucks in dust and stuff of space, never to be seen again. Then a natural history revealed, as earth retches, and steam and exploding lava streak the skies as the islet of Surtsey grows from the seas near Iceland in 1963. Such pyrotechnics hint of the powerful forces at work in our restless, hot-hearted planet – pushing continents around, building mountains, opening and closing oceans; thus our continent of North America came into being! By whatever definition this great world that we live in, it has distinctive representatives and though the biological landscapes of North America are varied and magnificent, the continent is not markedly different in many respects from Europe and Asia. Because of the high spiritual and emotional drama which struck him as profoundly real and profoundly human; he wanted to know how one might conduct the inquiry concerning these two inherently related topics: a) Work b) Prayer. In the first place, he would not have been a working storyteller if it had not been helped providentially and secondly if it had not been for Terry, his wife in her encouragement to write this memoir. As a Christian in the first order and being Eurasian, one has also inherited a dual cultural heritage which is an advantage if not benefit as well. Consisted of having both Western and Eastern traditions it is markedly different in so many respects of the two continents of Europe and Asia. He had acquired only three years of religious study in Theology at the St. Patrick Seminary & University in Menlo Park. And in this Second Chapter, he revealed that “A sudden outburst of an urge from the abyss of his soul of a modern-day miracle may be taking place. Mary, the Mother of God also desires that he is to give a written witness and reflection of his conversion in this book.” When the author first arrived in San Francisco on Dec. 8th 1956, it was this sonorous experience that he had in viewing his popular television program from Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Who had once said, Christianity, unlike any other religion in the world, begins with catastrophe and defeat. Sunshine religions and psychological inspirations collapse in calamity and wither in adversity. But the LIFE OF THE FOUNDER of Christianity, having begun with the Cross, ends with the empty tomb and victory. The author hopes that readers would find much pleasure in reading this memoir.

About the Author
FRANCISCO CRUZ is an immigrant and naturalized American citizen since 1962. Arrived in San Francisco with 300 to 400 other foreign refugees from Shanghai on Dec. 8, 1956 aboard the "President Cleveland" on voyage No. 69. Just two hours outside the port of Hong Kong she encountered a typhoon in her first leg of the voyage to Osaka, then Yokohama, Japan with its final destination for America - in a flight of bondage from the Chinese Communist regime of Mao Zedong. In a similar narrative from Scripture of the Exodus of the Israelites who fled from Egypt. One often ponders the fate of the free world and speaks of America's destiny in the present world crisis. In great measure, I was deeply honored at an opportunity to claim to be a true San Franciscan by virtue of one's length of residency since 1956. By providential gift my family was brought to 'the land of milk and honey, San Francisco. Such was the assurance granted by our founding fathers of our U.S. Constitution who had long cherished in one's mind and heart in this country for more than half a century of my lifetime. I have created an interesting and surprising legacy in the progress for a total of fifty-eight years of career achievement in America with forty-one years in U.S. Civil Service, twenty-eight years in banking, five years as franchise owners with my wife, Doreen of a Seven-Eleven store in Fairfax and aggregated an unbroken double careers of twenty five years minimum. In my humble assessment in all account I felt much blessed, bearing this philosophy that all Lives is worth living as that in every religious belief. 'God has a plan for the life of every family. Every circumstance, every turn of destiny, is for the good.' I live with my wife, Terry, in Rio Vista, California. We have been married for twenty-eight years and have six grown children, six grandchildren, a Pomeranian dog, Rex, and at least that many friends!
