About the Author

Michael Warrington was born in London in 1924 and grew up in England. He was at school in Portsmouth – a naval port and target of the German bombing offensive of 1940-1941. He joined the army in 1942, trained at Sandhurst and was a tank officer with the 7th Armoured Division (Monty’s Desert Rats) in Normandy and Northwest and Northwest Europe in 1944. After the war he studied medicine at London University, emigrated to Canada and worked as a prairie doctor for several years before moving to British Columbia. Now retired, he lives with his wife, Helen, in Tsawwassen. Helen and Michael have eight children and fourteen grandchildren.
