About the Author
Don Hults was raised in Millburn NJ. At the age of fourteen he learned the basics of photography in his father’s darkroom. He saved enough money to buy his first camera for $12 and that started it. At the end of WW2 he served as an Army photographer in Japan then attended Rochester Institute where he majored in photography. Now at age twenty three he started his own commercial photography business. Fortunately he had the mind of a salesman and an enormous knowledge of photography. The commercial photography business (later printing) grew quickly. Using a system of targeting prospects with direct mail and follow-up with his sales force, cold calling was almost eradicated. The result was a prosperous business that went non-stop for fifty years.
