About the Author

Melinda Ashton, M.D., F.A.A. P., is a Board Certified Pediatrician. She has practiced Pediatrics for more than 18 years, and appreciates the special bond that can develop between a patient and his or her physician. Melinda also spent five years as the Medial Director of a health plan, and in that role began to experience the frustration of growing awareness that medical care is not always as good as it should be. As a daughter, sister, wife and mother, she has tried to assure the best health care for her loved ones and would like to share some of her knowledge with you in Nothing About Me, Without Me

Linda Richards is a Registered Nurse with many years of experience in the healthcare field. She holds a Masters degree in Healthcare Management and a national certification in healthcare quality (CPHQ - Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality). Linda has experienced healthcare from the inside out as a nurse, a healthcare administrator, the mother of four children and a concerned community member. She has also been a patient in a variety of healthcare situations. Linda and Melinda share a passionate desire to facilitate performance improvement in healthcare.
