About the Book

The weather of the Victoria area is primarily a function of the region's location in the lee of the Olympic Mountains and Sooke Hills. This combined with the rolling topography and proximity to the ocean produce a diversity of climates over very short distances. Global events thousands of kilometres away affect not only our weather patterns today, but did so in the past when the climate was considerably different.
