The Journey of Raincross

About the Book

Taken from the ship's log and daily journal entries, this is the account of the fair winds and following seas encountered by the sailing vessel Raincross and her husband and wife crew. From San Diego, California to Nassau, Bahamas this couple fulfilled a mutually shared dream to go cruising.

It was not smooth sailing all the way, however, their adventures solidified their love for each other and satiated their quest for ocean navigation. The book chronicles the fascinating people and places they come upon, as well as the hopes and fears as an experienced sailor partners with a novice first mate.

About the Author

Nancy was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Her love for travel has taken her to: England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, France, Italy, Greece and Egypt.

She lives in San Diego, California with her husband Jerry. Nancy has Master's Degree in clinical social work and is currently working towards licensure. Jerry is a civilian working for the Department of the Navy as a project manager. They enjoy weekend motorcycle rides, traveling and, of course, boating.

Nancy has a handsome son, Benjamin, two lovely stepdaughters, Jaquelyn and Tracy and three beautiful grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan and Madison.

Much of this chronicle was made possible by my sister, Linda, who gave us a special journal. Every page was topped by a scriptural verse. Many times throughout this voyage those verses were the inspiration to keep us going.

Nancy wishes to thank all of their friends and family who offered love and prayers, which also sustained them on their journey. Also a special thanks to the numerous friends who gave the technical support necessary to get this project completed. Ben: I promised you "Shrinkage," stay tuned.
