About the Author

The author of this book is a political scientist/journalist by training. He is a traditional Chief, from the Benin Royal Family, holding the title of the ISEKHURE OF BENIN within the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria known as the Edos. The Benin Kingdom of old, was one of he vibrant and great empires of pre-colonial Africa. Chief Nosakhare Isekhure J. P. is a product of a great heritage and has expressed this background in active expression of commentaries and writings on political and cultural matters as it effects Nigeria.

He has authored four books on contemporary politics in Nigeria namely, DIALOGUE 88/89, THE MAKING OF THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION, DEMOCRACY IN CRISIS, RELIGION, CULTURE, AND SPIRITUALITY, VISION 2010 - THE CRITICAL STEPS TO NIGERIAN GREATNESS, and the yet ot be published book manuscript entitled PREPARATION, ADJUSTMENT AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN AFRICA.

Chief Isekhure served as a member of the Constituent Assembly in Nigeria in 1988/89 to fashion out a constitution for Nigeria. A publisher of the NATIONAL COMMENTOR and author of more than 300 articles on various national and international issues. He is an honorary member of the Commonwealth of the STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS, USA and also an honorary member of the INTERNATIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL CENTER, Cambridge, England. An honorary Rotarian and Patron of the EDO NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN THE AMERICAS.

He has Bachelors and Masters degrees in Political Science, Journalism and Public Adminstration.

Chief Nosakhare I. Isekhure is ACTLAP Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ACTLAP in Nigeria whose mandate is to see to the development of the ACTLAP and the ACTLAP STRIVE Complex Building development fund in Benin, Edo State - Nigeria. He was assigned to ACTLAP by the Benin Monarch on this ACTLAP Project which enjoys the full unconditional support and cooperation of His Royal Majesty: OMO N'OBA N'EDO - UKU AKPOLOKPOLO EREDIAUWA, CFR THE OBA (KING) OF BENIN KINGDOM.
