About the Book

From Patients to Policy chronicles the development of primary care education at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The resurgence of interest in primary care prompted development of the Primary Care Track at Case medical school.

The beginning of the book explains the rationale behind development of the Primary Care Track curriculum and tells how it was accomplished.

The main part of the book showcases the medical studentsÕ health policy papers, written between 1998 and 2005. Each paper is prefaced by a comment from a faculty member familiar with the topic area of the paper. It is interesting to note, both the quality of the student writing and the way the subject areas have remained relevant over time.
