About the Book

This is the inside story of how a "breakaway" advertising agency in New Zealand sent the multinationals in London, New York, Paris and Sydney to shock and confusion. A billion dollar advertising agency group is embarrassed by the loss of most clients and all of the staff.

The Murphy Truman Advertising Agency is born.

Worldwide publicity follows along with a precedent setting court ruling. Advertising legend David Ogilvy reports his version of the results in his book OGILVY ON ADVERTISING.

The author is one of the directors who resigned; he was there and has a different view of the events - and the results.

Did the "breakaway" agency directors get away with it? You be the judge!

About the Author

D. Richard Truman was born in the steel city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and began writing as an advertising copywriter in Toronto.

During his forty-five year career, he worked with major international advertising agencies in North America, Europe, Africa and Australasia. After twenty-five years working in the international market, he returned home. A few years after returning to Toronto, he set up his own company, Campaign House, which emerged as the Canadian nucleus of a worldwide group of "boutique' agencies, a considerable achievement in a savagely competitive industry dominated by American and British mega-agencies.

Nearing retirement, Truman sold Campaign House Worldwide to Bates, part of the Cordiant Group, plc of London, England.

Richard has been listed in Who's Who in Canada for the past eight years. After retirement, Richard and his British-born wife Beverly moved to Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

Richard is the father of two daughters, Michelle Stafford and Nicole Hall and has four grandchildren: Alexander Leonard Truman, Kylie Nicole, Ryan Charles and Oliver Miles Truman.

"Passion without Justice" is his fifth published book.
