About the Book

This practical application of the standard classificatin Uniformat II, for construction budgets is based on experience of the author who counts more than 1000 projects of construction representing several million dollars. It describes a useful organized approach in the elaboration of a budget. This approach will improve not only the exactitude of the budget but will also increase, as a management tool, the cost control of projects. it will result from it, a project's budget organized and detailed which will support the intentions of the owner as for the criteria of design and the costs.

Le présent guide d'application de la norme Uniformat II pour les budgets de construction est basé sur l'expérience de l'auteur qui compte à son actif plus de 100 projets de construction représentant plusieurs millions de dollars. Il décrit une approche organisé utile dans l'élaboration d'un devi s estimatif. Cette approche améliorera non seulement l'exactitude du budget mais augmentera également son utilité comme outil de gestion de projet pour le contrôle des coûs. Il en résultera un buget de porjet organisé et détaillé qui appuiera les intentions du propriétaire quant aux de critè de conception et aux coûts qui y sont lié.

About the Author

Yvon Chabot, B. Ing., ECA, CIQS, has been working full-time in construction cost and budgeting since 1980. The author has conducted budget over 1000 projects, for various organisations and agencies on projects totalling more than 1000 projects, for various organisations and agencies on projects totalling more than $1 000 million. As an expert on cost estimating in the construction field, he directed the Cost Management Division for Public Building Service, supervising the development of their current cost control, budgeting and estimating procedures.

Yvon Chabot, B. Ing., ECA, CIQS, travaille à temps plein dans l'estimation et la préparation de budget de construction depuis 1980. L'auteur a élaboré le budget de plus de 1000 projets, pour différents organismes et agences sur des projets se montant à plus de $1000 millions. En tant qu'expert en estimation de coût, il a ét&@233 en charge de l'estimation pour la Société immobilière du Québec (bras immobilier des services gouvernementaux), et dirige présentement la division de l'estimation pour la Corporation d'hébergement du Québec (bras immobilier du réseau de la santé), dirigeant le développement des procédures pour le contrôle de coûts.
