About the Book

God Is in the Details is the story of a man's courage as he battles a rare and incurable form of lymphoma and the daily emotions of his wife as she is thrown unexpectedly into the role of sole caregiver. It begins with the devastating diagnosis, then moves into the couple's story of hope, determination, and the realization that with a deep faith in God, a good sense of humor, and the power of prayer, you can find the courage you need to step out in faith and trust God with your very life. During the long months of chemotherapy, George fought the battle for his life; at times it looked as though it would be a battle that was lost. As Diane continued to care for her husband, she began to discover a deeper relationship with God than she had ever known possible. The days were sometimes terrifying, sometimes desperate, but ultimately some of the best days of her life. There were many times when she was faced with doubt and confusion, but quickly learned that all she had to do was call on God and He was all she needed; He was with her in every detail of her life. Through endless storms, she received more blessings than she could have imagined.

About the Author

Diane grew up in the Chicago area, where she lived until 1973. After a brief move to Georgia, she finally settled in a small town in southern Michigan. She and her husband have owned several small businesses during their marriage and are now enjoying retirement. Diane stays busy with her family, and her favorite times are those when everyone gathers for special occasions. She is the mother of three grown children and grandmother to seven.

In 2004, her life changed drastically when her husband was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This was the beginning of a long and difficult time for both of them. Diane was to find herself moving 1200 miles from home and family so George could undergo very aggressive chemotherapy at MD Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston, Texas. It was a time of deep personal growth, a time when God's love became the one thing that she could depend on.
