About the Book

It has become acceptable for people to talk freely about their beliefs when it comes to "invisible signs" of spirits among us. People want to believe that there is something that exists beyond the visible. It gives them hope and comfort to think that the dead who've crossed over to the afterlife are able to communicate with us. In 1996, when my Mom passed away, she was able to let me know she was okay and that I would be okay too without her in my physical presence. She is no doubt with me in spirit and still sends me signals to remind me of her spiritual presence in my life. I'm not fearful, rather I find myself smiling or laughing with her whenever she shows herself to me. I like talking to people about this blessing. In turn, I have become pleasantly surprised at the stories other people tell me about their unexplainable experiences with spirits. I never knew how many people had experienced the feelings of what I call "spirit connections". People were eager to confide their experiences to me. It inspired me to write this book which includes forty-seven of their stories in hopes that others will realize that even when your loved ones die, they can live on and be with you in spirit. You will always feel their love as long as you keep them alive in your heart. I hope after you read my book, you will feel renewed joy and happiness from the relationships you have with the living and the dead. And I'm pleased the stories are enhanced with seventeen whimsical illustrations by artist Nicole Renee VanDyke. The book will make a perfect gift for anyone who has ever lost a loved one or is curious about life after death.

About the Author

Two decades ago, Lisa Martin Capozzi produced her first television show for an NBC-affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota. Ten P.M. news production was a promising challenge for Capozzi fresh out of Journalism school at the University of Minnesota. Highlights included awards from the Minnesota Medical Association and the Minnesota Education Association, the creation of a weekly series entitled "Lifeline" at the Mayo Clinic, three national network stories and reporter interviews with President George Bush, Willie Nelson and numerous others. Capozzi went on to form her own Minneapolis-based production company, "Marketing Productions" after leaving the news business. She produced, wrote and directed television commercials and sales marketing videos. To fulfill her passion for acting, she studied the craft at the Guthrie theater in Minneapolis.

In 1995, Capozzi moved to Los Angeles to build her professional union acting credits. Live stage credits included, "La Boheme", "Hansel and Gretel" and "Carmen" with the L.A. Opera. Television credits included staring roles on "America's Most Wanted" and "EXTRA" to pilots, "Panache" and "Spirit Connections". She was also featured on "That 70's Show", "The Nanny" and a Rosie O'Donnell T.V. promo. Her entrepreneurial spirit prompted her to create, market and run two small businesses while promoting herself as an actress. She created MC Casting, a casting company where she cast independent feature films. She also created and ran Prime Print Talent, a print management company that booked a talent pool of one-hundred-thirty-five actors for print jobs. Her clients included IBM, Target, Nokia, General Motors and Honda.

In addition to writing "Spirit Connections", Capozzi has co-written a television pilot, "Fat, Flat and Broke" and a feature film, "Snowglobe". In 2002, she recorded her first singing CD with her husband, Ken. They are part of a trio called "Triple Stack" performing standards including Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin classics. She also teaches writing and drama with her husband to L.A. inner city children.
