About the Book

About the Author

Bob Tumba was born on June 13th, 1948 in Kipushi, in the South of Katanga. His father worked at the mining Union of High Katanga, currently Gecamines (General of the careers and the mines). Bob is thus marked, since his childhood, by the industrial world. In 1971, he earned a bachelors degree in economics, with the mention of distinction, at the University of Lovanium of Kinshasa. He was retained there as an assistant professor, but without awaiting the end of the academic year, he took a leave of teaching to join an iron and steel industry incipient in Congo. Indeed, German and Italian promoters had just built steel-works in the hinterland of Kinshasa. In 1980, he was the managing director of this young industrial complex. It is then that the government nationalizes the production unit. Bob Tumba left the factory. In 2000, he was recruited as managing director of the First Network of Cellular Telephony GSM in Congo, after having furbished his weapons, over twenty years, in the private independent (public works, broker of insurances and river transport). Since 2003, he has been the president of the Congolese subsidiary company of the multinational Millicom International Cellular S.A, quoted in NASDAQ (National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations), the New York stock market of the technological values. His professional journey never crossed public office nor political. Bob Tumba is married and the father of four children. Contacts btumba@tigo.cd bob_tumba@yahoo.fr + 243 89 89 0000 1
