About the Book
At times haunting, but also therapeutic and healing, Love Triangle explores the traumatizing effects of mental illness and exposes the feelings and emotions of someone who has suffered abuse.
Through poems and short stories—a portion of them written in Russian—author Kate Valery relates the experience of living with someone afflicted with mental illness and the abuse that follows. The title poem, “Love Triangle,” captures the essence of the harrowing experience: / You, me, and the wicked wild animal / Nestled in your brain. / You, me, and the wicked wild animal / Tried to push me ‘neath a train. / You, me, and the wicked wild animal / Tried to drown me in a pool. / You, me, and the wicked wild animal; / Thought that it would be so cool! /

About the Author
Kate Valery is Canadian writer, poet, and journalist who worked as correspondent and editor at numerous radio stations and newspapers. She lives in the United States with her husband and is working on her fifth book, a novel titled Love with a Ghost.
