About the Book

For Kate Owusu Sekyere, a young woman born in Ghana, West Africa, the passion for fashion began when she was just a child. But her mother’s ambitions did not include such a creative future for her child, and young Kate had to learn on her own. What is presented within is a collection of her sketches and ideas. Purely self-taught in fashion and illustration, Kate has gathered her favorite sketches in a collection designed to celebrate a woman’s natural curves and feminine beauty. Her collection features whimsical, earthy designs that embrace the concept that women who are built like women deserve beautiful clothes. Her very feminine gowns, casual dresses, formal dresses, tops, and more are presented against bright, bold backgrounds. Her sketches illustrate outfits for every occasion and need, with the focus on pattern and individual fashion sense. The idea is to love your curves, and her designs will help the viewer grow into that level of confidence.
