About the Book

This book is for information on my journey to health and weight loss. See your doctor before starting any health or weight loss plan. My mother, my four sisters, and I have been dieting for years. We have tried them all. Weight Watchers, Quick Weight Loss, HCG shots, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Sugar Busters, and more. They all work. Eat healthy, exercise, and watch your portions. I realized that all the diets and everything I have read took me back to the basics. Everything I learned in school about a balanced nutritious meal is what I have to do. I had to go back to the basics. We are eating healthy now for health, energy, sharp mind, and many other reasons. Doing this brings about weight loss, health, energy, and I am off my blood pressure meds. I have always taken allergy shots or pills and recently I was tested and I am not allergic to anything. Yeah!

About the Author

I want to share what I have learned on my journey to health. I am from Houston, Texas. I love Southern cooking and Tex-Mex foods. I never had a weight problem until I was thirty. My goal was to fit in the clothes that I have in my closet. Then I decided to get off my blood pressure medicine, allergy, and hormone therapy. Sensible eating and exercise is the only way to a healthier me. I am taking it a day at a time. I am creating better habits at home and when I go out to eat. I have researched on the Internet and read many books. I have learned from Oprah, Dr. Oz, and many other TV and radio programs. They all seem to say the same thing. Eat more fruits and veggies, control my portions, and get moving. It seems like I learned basic nutrition in elementary school. You can take this book to the store with you when you go grocery shopping. We can all work on this together. I am off most of my prescription. I will continue my journey to the healthiest me I can be. I hope to encourage others. If I can do it, then you can do it too. It takes time. My gaining weight did not happen overnight. Changing my eating habits has been the most challenging thing I have ever had to do. I do feel better and I like feeling energetic to do everything life has to offer. God bless and good luck!
