About the Author

B. L. Gordon currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a graduate of Carver High School and Rhodes College in Memphis. She states that she is a retired but not expired public assistance supervisor with the State of Tennessee. She currently works part-time as a substitute teacher. She also writes best friendship articles for examiner.com, which has inspired the writing of this book. She is a doting grandmother and states her granddaughter has brought her a renewed vigor for life. She finds more enjoyment in the simple, fun things that involve fun activities with Aleyah, her five-year-old granddaughter. At the age of fifty-seven, she found herself a widow after thirty-five years of marriage. She refocused her interest in writing to fill the deep void created by the loss of her husband and best friend. She states she is slowly rediscovering her passion for life, fueled by many wonderful memories of the joy and happiness that her husband, Charlie (affectionately known as Chas), brought to her life. Happiness, she states she has finally come to understand, is a state of mind. She has learned what it means to smile no matter how bad your heart aches and that she is blessed and highly favored to have shared so many years with someone who made her laugh and was her best friend and confidant, as well as her lifelong partner.
