Children and parents will have fun reading about my two adorable, lovable German Shepherds, Happy and Blackie, with original photographs by Harry Fine, and activities to do that will increase their reading, listening, comprehension skills, compassion and patience. It will also encourage them to love, take care of, and enjoy their pets more. The setting, of this story, takes place in the garden. Dad brings home trees to plant and knowing that Happy and Blackie like to dig, asks them to help dig the holes for the trees. Blackie listens, attentively to all dad has to say but Happy has his mind on something else and thinks he can dig holes, any place he wants. Therefore, he runs over to the other side of the garden, starts digging and gets in trouble. Read on to find out the reactions of dad and Blackie when they saw Happy digging in the vegetable garden. Laugh at what Happy did after dad told him to go into the house. Keep this book to read repeatedly and shared with others.

About the Book
You will enjoy and have a few laughs while reading about my two adorable, loveable shepherds, Happy and Blackie, with original photographs. Happy is impatient and half listens to what Dad wants him to do and so gets into trouble. Blackie pays attention to what Dad is saying, follows his directions, and is rewarded for doing a good job and finding some of Dad’s lost items. Do the activities in the back of this book. Put a picture of your dog or pet, or a picture of a pet that you would like to have in the future, and save this book. It is meant to be read and shared over and over.
About the Author
Maureen Fine has an AA in business and a BA in education, with extra credits toward a master’s degree. While the manager of a department store in Washington, DC, she worked with the Commissioner’s Youth Council, the Board of Education, and the Pied Pipers to help underprivileged children better themselves and their community. Classes were formed on muscles and manners, grooming and beauty, modeling and stage presence, and sewing; and Maureen organized and produced fashion shows using the store’s clothes at the community centers, store, schools, and churches. Before Maureen left the department store, in 1966, she taught a few ladies in the community and the new manager of the department store how to organize and produce the shows. She then went on to teach in school, opened up a ladies retail clothing store, and did importing and wholesaling of ladies clothing of her designs and from other manufactures. Maureen also wrote about community and news events for a garden club, high school, department stores, women’s club and condo association. Her latest published work was a story, with her byline, in Nostalgia magazine.
