About the Author
Sonja Appleberry is a 1986 graduate of Rosa Fort High School and a native of Tunica, Mississippi. She grew up in the impoverished town of Tunica but managed to find security in nearby Memphis, Tennessee. She is the mother of four children, who are all grown. She’s the youngest of five siblings. Her life as a lesbian has been in existence for twenty years. She loves to exercise, write, and meet new people. She has a live-in girlfriend, and they’ve been together for fifteen years. She has worked vigorously in multiple jobs, but she is now working as a specialist in the mobile phone industry. She’s strong willed and is natural in taking on the leading role. Her strong will and determination to rise above the norm led to the writing of her first novel. This fiction novel entitled Femme: A Woman’s Touch is largely true and is based on her story.
