About the Book

Bullying has become an uncomfortable experience for many schoolchildren. When Li’l Jasmine receives hateful text messages and disparaging remarks on her social-media sites because she wouldn’t help some students copy her answers on the end-of-year assessment exam, she turns to her teacher, Ms. Robbins, for help.

Ms. Robbins explains to Li’l Jasmine that she is a victim of cyberbullying and works with her to devise a plan that will raise awareness about cyberbullying and offer tips on how to avoid it and deal with it. The message of this story is sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt you if you have a strong character.

About the Author

Robin Washington Banks is the great-granddaughter of Booker T. Washington, founder of Tuskegee University, and the daughter of Tuskegee airman Marshall S. Cabiness Sr. She is a retired educator, a writer, and a professional speaker. Her writing and speeches reflect her great-grandfather’s character-building philosophy.

She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
