About the Book
“ARS POETICA” explores a collection of poems and original paintings that celebrates the imagination. The poems speak volumes and the paintings echo their imagery, all drawn from a woman’s point of view.
About the Author
HARRIET SLAUGHTER is an actress, singer, dancer, arts administrator, poet and painter, with a BFA from the University of Texas and a MFA from NYU. She has appeared in among others, Inherit the Wind, King Lear, The King and I, Man of La Mancha and Fiddler on the Roof. She served as senior executive for Town Hall, Actors’ Equity Association and the Broadway League where she was trustee on numerous entertainment pension funds. She has produced for TV and received the 2011 Galaxy Award from the New York Women’s Agenda. Her poetry has appeared in several anthologies. She won the Scroll Award from the Angels Without Wings Foundation in 2012. Her art work has appeared in juried art shows in New York City and Long Island.
