About the Book

Clifford Brown will always be remembered by many. He will be remembered for his ability to play his trumpet; he will be remembered for his kindness to others, and his willingness to help others to fulfill their dreams of becoming musicians; he will be remembered for the way that he was determined to succeed by practicing and studying; most of all, he will be remembered for the beautiful music that he gave to others to enjoy.

About the Author

Margaret received her BA degree in education from Delaware State College in Dover, Delaware. She was the sister-in-law of Clifford Brown and one of the last people to see him alive before his fatal car accident in June 1956. She was also an elementary school teacher for over forty years and taught Saturday morning Bible school for the children in her church and surrounding community. She wrote this book to encourage and inspire young children that with education, hard work, and determination you can achieve your goals and live your dreams. This book was originally written in 1966 for a writer’s competition sponsored by her sorority Phi Delta Kappa, and it won first prize! As a part of her winnings, this book was to be published then but it never happened.
