About the Book

If asked at the many different points in my life to describe the definition of “normal”, no two answers would’ve been the same. My Drill Sergeant, when I was in the Army, said that it looked like I woke up in a new world everyday. That’s probably when I would’ve started referring to seek out the dictionary’s answer at that time. By not having a handle on a reasonable definition to such a simple word is the best indicator of just how turbulent my life was, at that time. One of my earliest memories was the ending of “Camelot” with the assassination of President Kennedy. I was not aware of how this tragedy would impact the nation and the world, I couldn’t even grasp the complexities of how my own life was unfolding around me the way it was. The 60’s roller coaster left me starting the 70’s in the house of mirrors, with no exit in sight. I’ve always been aware that we all have problems that each of us have to deal with, but mine seemed to be strictly unique to me, or maybe it was the way I perceived them. I’ve learned (much later in life) that we are all in this together.

About the Author

I’ve sought, most of my life anyway, for my niche in life. Where do I belong? What’s my purpose? The truth of the matter is that I’m still searching. If life was like a well directed map we’d all probably wind up in the same place. All of us do not have the same goals, aspirations, ambitions, or desires. I do know that we all have to feel like we belong, belong to something greater than just ourselves. Whether it’s touching the life of the one special person, or making the profound difference in the lives of the masses, we all need to accomplish and feel wanted and needed. if you’re lucky in life then it’s all of the above. How we perceive and negotiate the barricades and obstacles in life that slow our progress and constantly redirects our paths is crucial to get to our desired destination. Keep in mind it’s all about the journey though, not the destination. I currently live in Tacoma, Washington with my wife.
