About the Author

Gwen strives to write a balance of short, easy to read pattern stories with longer fiction and non-fiction stories that contain factual information and shine the spotlight on the environment. The illustrations for this book reflect Gwen’s passion for exploring the myriad of techniques and hues employing fluid painting. To create the illustrations, Gwen first created a great variety of animals. Next, she experimented with dozens of vibrant colours using a variety of fluid painting techniques. She specifically chose vibrant colours that would either enhance or camouflage the animal drawings. The drawing of each animal was cut out and superimposed on the appropriate fluid painting. Gwen also has a passion for planting trees. She encourages everyone to plant as many native trees as possible to mitigate the devastating effects of climate change.
