This book is based on the assumption that everyone is born with energy from day one until death. We decide how this energy is to be invested every day. It may conscious or unconscious, but the fact remains, we are investing our energy one way or another. The question comes, how can I best invest this energy? We will expend this energy one way or another. The contention of this book is that the Mystery (God) has created us in such a way (the givenness of our creation) that we are to spend this energy for others. This does not mean we neglect ourselves but we need to be consciously driving and pushing ourselves to care for others, reminding ourselves that this DNA has been implanted in us by the Mystery (God) with the intention that we will invest it in others. It is like, this is the understanding and reason for our creation. Obviously, we do not live for others all the time but this does not change the DNA that the Mystery has implanted in us. For the giving ourselves to others is the rock bottom of our creation, unchangeable and a permanent part of our creation. There are consequences for living for others and not living for others. Articles from books newspapers, magazines, and conversations will be used as experiential evidence of this reality This book is about observations and affirmations that when one gives himself/herself to others there is a fulfillment in life that cannot be had any other way. As much as we see in advertisements and taught by our culture that induce us to buy into this scenario there will be an emptiness and void. It is only when we embrace God's implanted DNA that fulfillment of life will be experienced.

About the Book
Everyone starts out life relying on others. Usually, these are family members, and it’s not uncommon for people to depend on them well into their twenties. But ultimately people must search for something more meaningful. The fortunate ones move toward caring for others, an impulse that is part of the DNA that God planted in humanity. This group includes people such as Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., Albert Schweitzer, and many others, some of whom are featured in this book. Author Don Johnson admires these people because they made a conscious choice to care for others. It is the same decision he made years ago when he was struggling to find a direction in life. After a lot of prayer and soul-searching, he decided to become a minister. In God’s Implanted DNA, Johnson recalls what it was like growing up in a Baptist family and then starting a family of his own; he also shares his thoughts on God’s teachings. Join him as he explores how much good can result when people give themselves up for the sake of others to find true happiness.
About the Author
Don Johnson, a native of Le Mars, Iowa, graduated from Westmar College before earning a bachelor of divinity degree from Evangelical Theological Seminary. He also studied at Boston University of Theology before serving churches in Massachusetts and Iowa. He is now retired and living in Oceanside, California.
