About the Author

Bill St. Amour is a 1975 Army ROTC graduate of the University of Vermont (UVM) with a BA in European history and Russian language and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Southern California in 1979. Commissioned as a second lieutenant from UVM in 1975, he served in Germany in the First Armored Division for four years. After nineteen years in the Vermont Army National Guard (VTARNG), he retired as a major in 1988. He now lives and works in Gainesville, Florida.
